Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Service Manager is responsible for the customerfocused and efficient operation of the dealerships service department. This role will operate the department at maximum production controlling costs building a loyal clientele maintaining good employee relationships and setting and obtaining sales objectives.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • Minimum 25 years supervisory experience preferably in the automotive service industry
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Maintain a valid California Drivers license and be insurable
  • Minimum of three 3 years of experience in the automotive repair industry or two 2 years fulltime experience in the automotive repair industry
  • Proficient knowledge of the dealerships computer systems
  • Tekion experience is a must
  • Strong Communication skills; listening
  • Ability to collaborate with the public sometimes with several customers at a time and with other dealership management and personnel
  • Must be a team player with impeccable honesty and integrity; maintain a high level of professional personal appearance and conduct

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a welcoming experience for customers encouraging repeat business and loyalty
  • Oversee a safe efficient profitable service operation
  • Hire train and manage team of service technicians
  • Encourage and develop team members as they build their career
  • Use leadership skills to budget forecast set objectives and anticipate the needs of the business
  • Demonstrate expertise in automotive service standards and manufacturer procedures
  • Understand and follow federal state and local regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes OSHA righttoknow etc.
  • Ensure that all records are accurate and accounted for pursuant to company policy and applicable laws/regulations
  • Ensure documentation of all service and repairs are accurately recorded
  • Responsible for quality control to ensure that work is completed as requested and to reduce comebacks and make sure vehicle is clean
  • Keep Service Director informed of all problems and potential problems involving repairs customers and equipment
  • Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety welfare or integrity of the dealership its personnel or customers
  • Maintain assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner
  • Comply with all federal state and local laws as well as company policy regarding safeguarding customers vehicles property and information
  • Attend training classes and utilize technical training as requested by management; review technical bulletins and other publications to keep uptodate issues concerning vehicle brands sold by company
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned by management

Compensation: $64k $72k/annually commission
