None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace in Rockford IL site aids in assembling the Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines have been used to save aircrafts and over 2600 lives.
What You Will Do:
- Repairs and maintains production and/or experimental test machinery including
- numerical control equipment.
- Operates metal cutting turning and grinding equipment for repair work hand and
- power tools standard measurement devices fork lift cranes and special equipment as
- necessary.
- Supports construction of new equipment repairs and replaces defective parts.
- Determines causes of machine breakdowns failures and malfunction. Troubleshoots
- and repairs all machines including production machines test equipment and
- machine parts.
- Installs levels tears down and rebuilds machines inspection equipment or test
- equipment. Assists in relocating machines.
- Provides ongoing preventative maintenance of machines and equipment including
- the realignment and maintaining of same.
- Performs complex machine repairs to troubleshoot tear down and repair various
- machine parts and fit machine parts following manufacturers specifications. This
- includes but is not limited to sing of ways and accessories fitting of ball and
- rolled packs and sourcing of parts for replacement.
- Machine Maintenance journeyman card or minimum of eight 8 years machine
- maintenance experience.
- Follows complex detailed drawings plans schematics and engineering specifications.
- Works with limited information engineering notes sketches or other information.
- Possesses complete set of tools.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
- 1st Shift: 6:30 am to 3pm Monday to Friday
Qualifications You Must Have:
- 8 years of relevant experience in machine maintenance or Machine Maintenance Journeyman Card.
- U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with the following tools: Pullers hoists cranes dollies tool hangers (to offset weight of tool) welding equipment painting supplies tools for HVAC system metal fabrication equipment pipe fitting tools insulated hand tools meters sledge hammer jack hammer wrenches pry bars drills extension cords flooring tools power tools and various other hand tools.
- Able to read blueprints.
- Carpentry and assembly experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
