POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The TCSD Early Childhood Programming Assistant Director will oversee organize and lead early childhood and education programs at TCSD Cubs This Assistant Director will collaborate closely with TCSD Cubs staff to develop a high quality educational program while also establishing a strong and enjoyable climate and culture. The Assistant Director is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow emotionally socially cognitively and physically. The Assistant Director will work to ensure that TCSD Cubs programs are designed for creative learning that stimulates childrens natural curiosity. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director around staffing enrollment ordering curriculum maintenance and transitions between programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Hold an Infant & Toddler Credential or be able to obtain the credential within 3 months of hire date.
Remain proactive and in compliance with the annual DFS licensing rules and regulations.
Ensure Cubs staff maintain adequate training and stay up to date on all DFS requirements.
Develop plan and implement a full day to day year round developmentally appropriate curriculum; including weekly themes and lesson plans. The inclusion of themerelated materials and rotation of toys and equipment occur on a regular basis.
Collaborate with Cubs teachers on the development of their lesson plans and curriculum.
Work closely with the Assistant Director to align programming and support student/family transitions between programs.
Assess all areas of development of children using a creative curriculum.
Collaborate with Therapists (Sped / OT / Speech) to support students with IEPs.
Develop and maintain a portfolio for each child that highlights growth and learning.
Administer a positive discipline and comfort plan appropriately.
Organize staff schedules in accordance with staff/student ratios and operational hours.
Supervise and direct parttime aide(s) substitutes and volunteers and delegate responsibilities to all Cubs staff.
Serve as a classroom substitute when staff members are absent or unable to work.
Support the onboarding of newly hired staff to ensure a smooth transition: DFS requirements & training staff orientation classroom routines and structures etc.
Organize and facilitate weekly / monthly staff meetings in coordination with the Director.
Provide a safe responsive stimulating environment by actively engaging oneself in daily activities and routines.
Form and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with parents families and staff.
Organize and facilitate at least two parentteacher conferences per year.
Supervise messages and communications with families and manage the Brightwheel app in general.
Communicate clearly and professionally with families and staff in a timely manner.
Must maintain confidentiality of staff and student records and information.
Must be proactive and timely with emergencies accident reporting and proper documentation.
Maintain and uphold state required Health and Safety Regulations.
Maintain and uphold the Wyoming Department of Family and Services Regulations.
Must be able to bend stoop lift and squat.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree required.
Must be CPR certified or be able to become CPR certified directly after hire.
Must submit to district and state required fingerprinting and background check(s) and all other related DFS licensing requirements.
At least 2 years experience working in PreK infant and toddler childcare settings.
Managerial or leadership experience required.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
Infant & Toddler Credential Early Childhood or Elementary Teaching Certificate is strongly preferred.

Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person may need to lift arms to write on chalk or marking board and occasionally stoop kneel crouch and reach 0 24 inches and up to 36 inches above the head. The employee is directly responsible for the safety wellbeing and work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed materialthe ability to adjust focus and exposure to screen(s) via technology. Hearing ability to monitor activity and presence of students and respond to communication with students and adults is required. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate but may become loud when large groups are together in a room. The employee may be required to move from room to room to provide instruction and may have to maneuver in crowded hallways. The employee may be exposed to unpredictable weather conditions. This position is typically performed in a hazard free clean and healthy environment.
