    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    The Title I Migrant Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of services to migrant studentsand programs funded through other Title I program grants.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    TEA Certification requirements
    Experience in school management preferred
    Have an understanding of the Migrant Student Record Transfer System and the Texas New GenerationSystem
    Valid Texas MidManagement or Principalship Certificate
    Three years of successful classroom experience required

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    Coordinate services to all migrant students (all levels).
    Monitor and coordinate migrant and other federal programs related activities.
    Ensure that all eligible migrant families are properly identified and recruited.
    Plan parent advisory committee meetings and disseminate migrant program information properly tomigrant families.
    Ensure active family and community involvement in the educational process.
    Monitor academic progress of migrant students by working cooperatively with the principal andcampus staff to implement a total instructional and support program which addresses the specificneeds of migrant students according to state and federal guidelines.
    Analyze data and make recommendations for the Migrant and SDFSC sections of the ConsolidatedGrant Application.
    Prepare evaluation and compliance reports required by the Texas Education Agency.
    Analyze data acquired from the district benchmark assessments as it relates the needs of migrantstudents.
    Coordinate support and community services to migrant families.
    Coordinate the early childhood education program (three year old) for migrant children.
    Work with the counselors to implement a recovery/reentry or other training programs that leadtoward graduation for migrant students who have dropped out of school.
    Maintain a list and description of all inschool services for migrant students.
    Develop and maintain late entry/early withdrawal policies which are provided to migrant parentsin English and Spanish.
    Work with parental involvement supervisor to insure that all the necessary information isprovided to parents of migrant students in English and or Spanish as needed.
    Provide staff development to staff providing services to migrant students.
    Work with counselors to assure that migrant students are scheduled according to a specific plantoward graduation.
    Provide timely and effective oral and written communication with principals teachers staffparents and community.
    Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel

    Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy procedures and data;coordinate district functions; maintain emotional control under stress; occasional district andstatewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours
