The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee Early Childhood Education Centers provide a safe nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our programs are designed to encourage children to develop a love of learning. Through the use of guided selfdiscovery and experiential learning teachers focus on providing children with enriching experiences to facilitate social emotional cognitive and physical growth and development.
Tasks
- Create and implement fun and engaging lesson plans for young children.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment to encourage childrens social and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about their childs progress and needs.
- Organize activities that promote physical mental and emotional growth.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to maintain a supportive learning atmosphere.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with kids parents and colleagues
- Ability to design and implement engaging and ageappropriate lesson plans
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain them
