Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Consultant with deep expertise in the telecommunications sector particularly in Access Control solutions and FibertotheBuilding (FTTB) deployments within the South African market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities fostering strategic partnerships and expanding our footprint in the telecom infrastructure space.

This role requires a dynamic professional with a strong technical understanding of fiber optic networks access control systems and lastmile connectivity solutions coupled with exceptional sales and relationshipbuilding skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the telecom access control and FTTB sectors across South Africa.

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets and expand market share.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ISPs property developers municipalities and large enterprises to drive FTTB and access control adoption.

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends competitor activities and emerging opportunities.

2. Technical Consultation & Solution Selling

  • Provide expert advice on FTTB deployments fiber access networks and telecom security/access control solutions.

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design customized solutions for clients.

  • Present technical proposals ROI analyses and business cases to key stakeholders.

3. Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and nurture partnerships with fiber providers infrastructure contractors and technology vendors.

  • Negotiate contracts SLAs and commercial agreements with clients and partners.

  • Represent the company at industry events conferences and networking forums.

4. Project & Deal Management

  • Oversee the endtoend sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure.

  • Work closely with project managers to ensure smooth implementation of FTTB and access control projects.

  • Monitor postsale client satisfaction and identify upsell/crosssell opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Engineering Telecommunications or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience in business development sales or consulting within the South African telecom industry.

  • Proven track record in selling FTTB solutions fiber access networks or telecom security/access control systems.

  • Strong technical knowledge of fiber optics GPON ISP operations and electronic access control technologies.

  • Established network with ISPs property managers and infrastructure providers in South Africa.

  • Excellent negotiation presentation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Selfdriven resultsoriented and able to work independently in a fastpaced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with municipalities real estate developers or largescale FTTH/FTTB projects.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the South African telecom sector.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and sales analytics.
