Job Description
Footwear Designer crafts and develops innovative shoe designs considering trends target audiences and technical aspects. They create designs select materials and oversee the creation process ensuring aesthetic consistency and product quality according to Shiksha.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Creation:
Sketches creates prototypes and develops detailed technical designs using both digital and manual methods.
Material Selection:
Chooses materials that meet aesthetic functional and production requirements while considering sustainability and brand goals.
Collaboration:
Works with crossfunctional teams like product development marketing and sales and also collaborates with internal and external partners.
Technical Expertise:
Develops and maintains technical specifications ensures designs are created to specifications and works with manufacturers.
Research & Development:
Conducts research on market trends materials and production techniques to stay uptodate.
Design Refinement:
Reviews designs based on feedback and makes revisions to ensure they meet both business objectives and customer needs.
Mentorship:
May be involved in mentoring other designers on new and innovative processes.
Digital Design Tools:
May be involved in testing evaluating and recommending new digital design tools.
