Job Description

Schedule: 4am12:30pm 5 days on 2 days off

The Inventory Control Specialist (ICS) is entrusted with the critical responsibility of maintaining precise accountability of inventory and inventory transactions. This role is fundamental to the organizations operational efficiency and financial integrity. The ICS is tasked with conducting rigorous daily cycle counts meticulously investigating inventory variances ensuring strict adherence to First In / First Out (FIFO) product rotation protocols and executing timely replenishment of pick locations to support outbound warehouse operations.

While the following responsibilities constitute the primary functions of this role it is imperative that the ICS demonstrates versatility by crosstraining in other business areas providing assistance as required and strictly adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP) in the of all tasks.

 

 

  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating RF scanners and desktop computers within an SAP environment ensuring accurate and timely data entry and retrieval.
  • Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts with utmost attention to safety protocols and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive daily cycle counts of pick and reserve bins by batch maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.
  • Thoroughly investigate and report inventory discrepancies providing detailed analysis and recommendations for resolution.
  • Implement and monitor strict FIFO product rotation protocols to minimize waste and ensure product quality.
  • Execute precise daily replenishment of pick bins before and during outbound operations to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Implement rigorous procedures for the segregation accounting and disposal of damaged and spoiled products ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct indepth investigations into the root causes of damage and spoilage proposing and implementing comprehensive solutions to mitigate occurrences.
  • Manage SCC outgoing shipments (excluding standard delivery orders) with meticulous attention to detail:

     

    • Execute precise picking packing and staging of materials for outgoing shipments.
    • Prepare and verify outgoing Bills of Lading for accuracy and completeness.
    • Oversee the loading of trucks for outgoing shipments ensuring proper handling and placement of goods.

     

     

  • Provide critical support in loading trucks and managing customer pickups as required maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and strict adherence to all company processes procedures and policies.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with all company security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a state of constant readiness for audits and 5S evaluations setting the standard for organizational excellence.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to team members in inventory control practices and procedures.
  • Play a pivotal role in the of monthly semiannual and annual Physical Inventory processes ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety in the operation of all equipment and tools.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by leadership with diligence and professionalism.

 


Qualifications :

  • High School diploma required. College Preferred 
  • Inventory certifications are acceptable. 
  • 2 years of experience in an inventory role. SAP experience preferred. 
  • Solid organizational skills are necessary
  • Good problemsolving skills to improve efficiency and inventory issues. 
  • Prior inventory control warehouse production or manufacturing experience is essential. 
  • Must be able to maintain forklift and pallet jack certification. 
  • Attention to detail to identify defective products. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and RF scanner. 
  • Perform essential math functions (e.g. add subtract multiply divide). 
  • Must be professional and courteous in dealing with internal and external customers. 
  • Willing and able to work any day or shift as we are a 24/7 operation including weekends and/or holidays. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods climb stairs/ladder and lift to 50 lbs. 
  • Work in refrigerated 32/38 degrees) and freezer 10 to 0 degrees) or extreme heat. 
  • Work in environments with exposure to loud machinery when necessary. 
  • Must be able to work around flour and yeast. 
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms overhead. 
  • Must push/pull 100 pounds using a pallet jack. 
  • Must use and /or wear always required safety equipment.
