In this role as an PSM/EHS Manager you will be responsible for:
Process Safety Management (PSM) Development and Support for 6 Solvent Plants in the EMENA region: France1 Belgium2 Netherlands1 Israel1 and UK1.
EHS Management in two locations in the Netherlands: our Leiden Pilot Plant and our European HQ in Oegstgeest.
At our pilot plant in Leiden we are testing new techniques and adhesives and simulating them for our plant in Europe. At our Head Office in Oegstgeest we have about 400 employees in a modern office facility plus a lab where we develop new adhesives.
To strengthen our team we are currently looking for an EHS/PSM Manager to be based in Alphen a/d Rijn and Oegstgeest. In your role you will directly report to the EHS Director EMENA and you will be responsible for:
Provide Divisional PSM Support and Development 60:
Provide technical advice on PSM.
Conduct site audits and offer mentoring.
Liaise with the global and EMENA PSM teams.
Collaborate with Engineering during early project phases.
Deliver PSM training to local management and team leaders.
Develop new sitespecific PSM training programs.
Support sites with PSM Roadmaps and OGSM implementation.
Monitor and facilitate the closure of corporate audit action plans.
Lead PSM Council meetings (Operations EHS PSM).
Manage the implementation of PSM Golden Actions.
Mentor new PSM engineers.
Advise sites on new environmental legislation and green chemistry practices.
Provide EHS/PSM support to Oegstgeest and Leiden 40:
You will be expected to implement the requirements and meet our global corporate EHS and PSM programs and Sustainability goals.
Conducting risk assessments including those related to CMR substances.
Offering guidance on new environmental legislation and green chemistry practices.
Hazardous Materials Management: Proficient in handling storing and disposing of chemicals with expertise in SDS and labeling.
Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of environmental (EPA) and safety (OSHA) / REACH regulations related to chemical use and waste.
Chemical Safety & Risk Assessment: Expertise in identifying chemical hazards conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures including flammable liquid standards and process safety management.
Hazardous Materials Management: Proficient in handling storing and disposing of chemicals with expertise in SDS and labeling.
Regulatory Compliance: Thorough understanding of environmental (EPA) and safety (OSHA) / REACH regulations related to chemical use and waste.
Chemical Safety & Risk Assessment: Expertise in identifying chemical hazards conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures including flammable liquid standards and process safety management
Qualifications :
To qualify for the role of the EHS Manager you have successfully completed your technical or university studies in the area of Environment Health and Safety or Chemical or Process Engineering and you have a minimum of 5 years experience. And a deep occupational and process safety expertise (HAZOP PHA PSM) and several years of professional experience. Next to this we expect you to:
Strong leadership managerial training and mentoring skills.
Industrial safety and occupational EHS within a manufacturing environment with a focus on Environmental leadership preferred.
Detailed knowledge of Dutch and EU regulatory requirements and EHS policies procedures and programs.
Experience in life safety codes: EHS rules HAZOP training principles of occupational safety and health and Industrial hygiene.
Strong Project/Problem Resolution skills.
Understanding of applicable computer systems such as Microsoft Office Lotus Notes and function specific software.
Good verbal written and presentation skills.
Strong coaching facilitating and training skills.
Understanding of applicable computer systems such as Microsoft Office Lotus Notes and function specific software.
