Job Description
- Adjust and tailor curriculum content and teaching materials to address the varied learning styles and needs of students.
- Track and record student performance refining instructional approaches and interventions as needed to promote growth.
- Apply assessment techniques deliver targeted lessons and maintain strong clear communication with both students and families.
- Offer training and guidance to school personnel and families on best practices for supporting bilingual learners with special education needs.
- Ensure meticulous recordkeeping and documentation in line with district guidelines and special education compliance standards.
- Engage actively in IEP meetings parent conferences and other collaborative sessions providing clear and informative updates.
- Work closely with general education teachers specialists and support teams to foster inclusive classroom environments and enhance student outcomes.
- Deliver direct instruction and individualized support across a variety of educational settings including mainstream classrooms resource rooms and specialized selfcontained environments.
- Design implement and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities ensuring adherence to all relevant state and federal mandates.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education.
- Bachelor s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master s preferred).
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and behavior management strategies.
