Upper School Learning Specialist
This is a long term maternity coverage that will run through the entirety of the first semester (AugDec). The Upper School Learning Specialist is a key member of the divisions student support team providing welldesigned caring and thoughtful support for students as they navigate EAs rigorous academic program. The Learning Specialist coordinates with faculty members and parents to support student learning and growth.
About You
Successful candidates for this position will:
- Have a track record of helping students develop learning skills and strategies that allow them to succeed in a challenging academic program.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of learning and academic intervention approaches.
- Have a deep understanding of the educational testing process and the ability to interpret psychoeducational evaluations and reports.
- Experience with developing individualized learning plans.
- Have experience with a wide range of pedagogies strategies and systems that can help upper school students succeed within the framework of Episcopals academic program.
- Be collaborative in nature seeking ways to partner with faculty families and others to support student learning and growth.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive and proactive communication style.
- Support classroom teachers in differentiating instruction.
- Have the expertise and experience to develop and implement occasional workshops related to academic support that can help both students and teachers grow.
