Job Description

Part time Assistant Group Leader ELC of Waldorf located at 3155 John Hanson Rd Waldorf MD 20601 PRESCHOOLPREK

Hours AM HOURS 6am9:45am PM HOURS 4pm6pm

Position Objective:

AlphaBEST Education is seeking a parttime Group Leader Assistant for our 4 year old Preschool Center in Waldorf MD.

CHILD SAFETY AND SUPERVISION

  1. Provides constant supervision of children by staying within sight and sound of assigned group. Adheres to policies and procedures in a proactive manner making the safety and care of children a primary focus.
  2. Follows licensing regulations/standards such as reporting child incidents and proper health and hygiene procedures.
  3. Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
  4. Assists in emergency situations such as evacuation procedures and CPR/First Aid.
  5. Reports suspected child abuse and neglect in accordance with mandated reporter guidelines.
  6. Stays apprised of childrelated food allergies special needs and other medically sensitive conditions.
  7. Reports to area manager any concerns regarding child behavior sickness healthrelated observations accidents or incidents requiring medical attention or matters that should be reported to the parents.
  8. Inspects on a daily basis all facilities equipment and supplies and makes sure all are accounted for and put away at the end of each day.
  1. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
  1. Seeks opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally with a focus on continuous improvement.
  2. Attends and maintains the required training hours as mandated by the state licensing agency.
  3. Seeks help when needed and responds to requests for help in a supportive manner.
  4. Focuses on continuous improvement by taking action to improve existing conditions and processes. Uses appropriate methods to identify opportunities implement solutions and measure impact.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience working under supervision with preschoolers in a licensed child care center nursery school churchoperated school or similar setting
  • CPR and First Aid certified.
  • Effective listening communication skills are required with both children and adults.
  • Serves as a positive role model; must be enthusiastic energetic creative and sensitive to children.
  • Good judgment and sound decisionmaking.
  • Knowledge of state policies and procedures regarding child care regulations.
  • Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
  • Possess demonstrated a professional level of verbal and written communication skills.
