Part time Assistant Group Leader ELC of Waldorf located at 3155 John Hanson Rd Waldorf MD 20601 PRESCHOOLPREK
Hours AM HOURS 6am9:45am PM HOURS 4pm6pm
Position Objective:
AlphaBEST Education is seeking a parttime Group Leader Assistant for our 4 year old Preschool Center in Waldorf MD.
CHILD SAFETY AND SUPERVISION
- Provides constant supervision of children by staying within sight and sound of assigned group. Adheres to policies and procedures in a proactive manner making the safety and care of children a primary focus.
- Follows licensing regulations/standards such as reporting child incidents and proper health and hygiene procedures.
- Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
- Assists in emergency situations such as evacuation procedures and CPR/First Aid.
- Reports suspected child abuse and neglect in accordance with mandated reporter guidelines.
- Stays apprised of childrelated food allergies special needs and other medically sensitive conditions.
- Reports to area manager any concerns regarding child behavior sickness healthrelated observations accidents or incidents requiring medical attention or matters that should be reported to the parents.
- Inspects on a daily basis all facilities equipment and supplies and makes sure all are accounted for and put away at the end of each day.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Seeks opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Attends and maintains the required training hours as mandated by the state licensing agency.
- Seeks help when needed and responds to requests for help in a supportive manner.
- Focuses on continuous improvement by taking action to improve existing conditions and processes. Uses appropriate methods to identify opportunities implement solutions and measure impact.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience working under supervision with preschoolers in a licensed child care center nursery school churchoperated school or similar setting
- CPR and First Aid certified.
- Effective listening communication skills are required with both children and adults.
- Serves as a positive role model; must be enthusiastic energetic creative and sensitive to children.
- Good judgment and sound decisionmaking.
- Knowledge of state policies and procedures regarding child care regulations.
- Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
- Possess demonstrated a professional level of verbal and written communication skills.
