Part Time Maintenance Tech

Support the goals and vision of Utah State University Maintenance Department by carrying out repairs and modifications to campus equipment and facilities that will improve safety quality and productivity and prolong the useful life of University assets

• Assist all members with repairs or modifications to University equipment or property according to requirements prioritized by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Troubleshoot repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment such as but not limited to: engines motorsair and water systems; using schematics diagrams sketches manufacturers repair specifications and tools such as hand tools power tools hoists and forklift trucks.
• Responsible for completing preventative maintenance routines and taking corrective action as needed.
• Responsible for Universitywide maintenance requirements report or recommend needed steps or in the case of emergencies take necessary action.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations as per OSHA and University standards.
• Must be dependable and reliable.

• Must be able to work required overtime as needed.

Moderate Physical Duties:

General maintenance duties plumbing painting etc.

The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting 50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling kneeling and squatting. Additionally the work environment can include confined or narrow spaces. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.

This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) walking bending stooping kneeling and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing repetitive hand motions and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
