Role: Quality Engineer
Location: Durban
Qualifications:
Matric
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field; certification in quality management is a plus.
Minimum 5 years proven experience in quality engineering or quality management roles within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Clear criminal record
Skills:
Strong understanding of quality management systems standards (e.g. ISO/TS& 14001 and regulatory requirements applicable to automotive manufacturing.
Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP PPAP FMEA Control Plans and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to analyze data identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve quality objectives and drive continuous improvement.
Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g. MS Office statistical analysis software) and quality management systems (e.g. ERP QMS).
High Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Implement and maintain a robust quality management system in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO/TS& 14001.
Ensure compliance with customerspecific quality requirements and facilitate customer audits and assessments.
Continuously improve the effectiveness of the QMS through internal audits management reviews and corrective/preventive actions.
Supplier Quality Management:
Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to establish quality requirements for raw materials components and outsourced processes.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards and contractual requirements.
Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality reliability and efficiency.
Lead or participate in crossfunctional teams to implement process improvements including root cause analysis corrective actions and preventive measures.
Utilize quality tools and methodologies such as APQP PPAP FMEA Control Plans and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Training and Development:
Provide training and guidance to quality assurance personnel and production operators on quality standards procedures and best practices.
Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of quality assurance personnel and production operators.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of quality inspections test results and nonconformities.
Generate quality reports and metrics to track performance trends and areas for improvement.
Communicate quality issues trends and improvement opportunities to management and stakeholders
