Job Description
One of Rochesters largest teaching hospitals is seeking Medical Assistants to become active members of their float pool. If you are a dynamic individual that loves variety in your workplace this is the job for you! If you have experience from a Primary Care Specialty Office or Urgent Care setting this we would love to hear from you.
- Full Time hours M F NO WEEKENDS NO OVERNIGHTS
- Pay: $20.50 an hour
- Mileage Reimbursement for select locations.
- Scheduled on a weekly basis.
- Temp to hire
- Free parking at all offices
Duties include but not limited to the following:
Clerical:
- Verify demographics/insurance coverage.
- Communicate effectively through electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Promptly and courteously respond to incoming phone traffic on multiline phones through appropriate screening routing and prioritization of calls.
- Establish and maintain professional interpersonal interactions with patients families physicians supervisors and coworkers.
- Escort patients to rooms.
- Obtain and record vital signs.
- Set up for anticipated provider procedures and examinations.
- Perform EKGs.
- Perform screenings and tests per provider direction.
- Setup equipment and instruments per office protocol.
- Clean and maintain exam/procedure rooms instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
- Return patient calls per direction of provider.
- Perform Point of Care Testing
Qualifications:
Experience working as a Medical Assistant or Hosptial Patient Care Technician for at least 6 months.
Requirements:
Strong communication skills verbal and written
