The mission of Catholic Charities Twin Cities is to serve those most in need and to advocate for justice in the community.

Our programs for children families and adults serve more than 25000 people every year. As the need for our services grows Catholic Charities is working to adapt and respond with strategies that prevent poverty meet basic needs in times of crisis and create pathways to greater stability.


Salary Range:$75000 $85000


About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MissionFocused Training Specialist to lead the development and delivery of staff training programs that support employees working directly with vulnerable populations.

This role is not instructional in the traditional academic or classroom sense. Rather it is focused on workforce development designing and facilitating adult learning programs that build the practical skills cultural humility and traumainformed approaches needed to effectively serve individuals and communities facing complex challenges.

While experience in education may provide a foundation in facilitation this role requires demonstrated expertise in creating and managing professional learning programs within organizational settings particularly in environments such as human services healthcare community outreach or social impact organizations.

The MissionFocused Training Specialist will play a vital role in supporting staff development across the agency ensuring employees are equipped to engage compassionately ethically and effectively with vulnerable individuals and families.


Responsibilities Include:


Training Program Management 50

  • Lead the assessment development coordination and tracking of training for all staff with a focus on employees providing direct service to vulnerable populations.
  • Manage and enhance the Learning Management System (LMS) ensuring accessible relevant and uptodate content for diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to create and deliver training programs specific to frontline roles addressing topics such as deescalation harm reduction traumainformed care and ethical service delivery.
  • Coordinate external training resources and partnerships to supplement internal expertise.
  • Ensure training is delivered in wideranging engaging and accessible formats for employees across all shifts and locations.

Employee Development & Client Engaging Training 35

  • Design and implement onboarding programs that prepare new employees for success in clientfacing roles.
  • Support leadership development pathways for emerging leaders within clientfocused programs.
  • Develop and deliver specialized training that promotes staff wellness selfcare and resilience in highstress environments.
  • Collaborate with Legal Compliance and Program teams to communicate new policies procedures and best practices relevant to service delivery.

Continuous Improvement & Evaluation 15

  • Assess training effectiveness through evaluation feedback and measurable outcomes.
  • Incorporate best practices and emerging trends from the fields of social services education and organizational learning.
  • Maintain a resource library of toolkits guides and reference materials to support ongoing staff learning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements and industry standards.


Qualifications:


Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Education Social Work Organizational Development or a related field. In lieu of a degree candidates with ten 10 years of direct relevant experience in staff training workforce development human services or community engagement will be considered.
  • A minimum of five 5 years of experience designing delivering and managing adult learning programs within a professional setting particularly those supporting staff who work with vulnerable or underserved populations.
  • Experience must reflect the ability to assess learning needs develop training strategies tailored to diverse roles and support performance improvement in complex workplace environments.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of adult learning theory workforce development strategies and culturally responsive training design.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in a related field (e.g. Social Work Public Health Organizational Leadership Adult Education).
  • Professional experience in nonprofit health human services or communitybased organizations where staff training needs are directly tied to community outcomes.
  • Proficiency in managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and delivering multiformat training (virtual inperson hybrid).

  • Strong facilitation coaching and presentation skills.
  • Experience working directly with vulnerable populations and frontline staff even in a volunteer capacity.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster a learning environment rooted in empathy inclusion and respect.
  • Strong collaboration and relationshipbuilding skills across all levels of the organization.
