Assistant Plant Superintendent Destrehan LAThis is a salaried exemptlevel position.
Scope:The Plant Assistant Superintendent will provide leadership support to the Export Elevator Plant Superintendent in all aspects of production and safety within an export elevator setting. The Plant Assistant Superintendent will be an active leader responsible for demonstrating a strong commitment to safety continuous improvement employee engagement and maintaining a costeffective and safe operation.
Responsibilities will include the daytoday oversight of plant safety ensuring compliance with ADM safety programs monitoring and continuously improving plant productivity managing risk supervising hourly union nonunion and salaried employees and coordinating with various corporate entities and other functions related to the general operations of an ADM export facility.
The successful candidate will understand and consistently demonstrate a safety first mindset. They will help manage an export facility that operates 365 days a year. The selected candidate must be able to work an average of 50 hours per week which may include holidays weekends and being oncall to meet business needs.
Role Responsibilities:- Provide direct supervision for approximately 70 employees including both salaried and hourly union and nonunion staff at an export elevator.
- Provide an injuryfree work environment for employees staff contractors and visitors through engagement required training programs good work practices adherence to standards and proactive elimination of exposures.
- Continually improve the plants safety record by addressing and correcting both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
- Maintain and improve housekeeping in all plant areas to ensure safety and compliance.
- Plan organize and direct manufacturing operations to ensure the most effective return on assets.
- Minimize manufacturing costs through the effective utilization of manpower facilities and materials.
- Assure the attainment of business objectives and production schedules. Reduce costs and seek to improve efficiencies in all areas of plant operations.
- Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout all plant departments for safety leadership problemsolving and cost reduction.
- Encourage the use of new techniques and focus on factbased problemsolving.
- Ensure that collective bargaining agreements are effectively administered.
- Manage operations department spending and expenses to the minimum levels required to meet site strategy.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with the community.
- Properly utilize resources and foster a welltrained and motivated salaried and hourly staff.
- Establish all shift production schedules. Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff. Conduct employee performance reviews and schedule plant meetings.

Role Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years experience including at least 3 years of management and supervisory experience in plant operations.
- Proven ability to engage and motivate employees as well as to discipline both hourly and salaried staff.
- Strong organizational skills required to maintain regular communication across various departments within the facility.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Hourly and salaried nonexempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
