This position serves as the program coordinator for the Intentional Injury Mortality and CDC funded Michigan Violent Death Reporting System (MIVDRS) within the Intentional Injury Prevention Unit. The MiVDRS data is part of the larger CDC National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS). This position is responsible for the following areas: 1 serve as consultant for all MiVDRS Program strategies; 2 provide project management for all grant components including partnership development subcontracts evaluation and adherence to all federal grant reporting; 3 serve as the consultant on data for State Unintentional Drug Reporting System (SUDORS) a module that is part of the CDC NVDRS. The Michigan SUDORS is part of mortality strategy within the Michigan Data to Action Program; 4 provide consultation on intentional injury mortality (including firearm injury) as well as undetermined deaths and drug poisoning mortality surveillance; 5 be responsible for participation in the integration of evidencebased injury and violence prevention strategies within other Injury and Violence Prevention Section programs.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a masters degree in public health health communication health policy or a public healthrelated field such as nursing epidemiology health education health economics dietetics/nutrition management genetics or speech and audiology; a masters degree in social work; masters degree in counseling; masters degree in special education with specialization in blind/visual disabilities; or a masters degree in public or business administration with a health care concentration.

Experience

Public Health Consultant 9

No specific type or amount is required.

Public Health Consultant 10
One year of professional postmasters experience as a consultant in a field of public health equivalent to a Public Health Consultant 9.

Public Health Consultant P11
Two years of professional postmasters experience as a consultant in a field of public health equivalent to a Public Health Consultant including one year equivalent to a Public Health Consultant 10.

Additional Requirements and Information

Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 320 S. Walnut Lansing MI. but it is anticipated that the position will work remotely. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
