Job Description
Summary:
The Commercial Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complex Commercial construction projects as required by the clients documents and provides complete conceptual description of the project and total bid price.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.
- Ensures timely completion of estimates.
- Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews construction documents and understands the scope of work to bid.
- Executes takeoffs of construction documents.
- Inputs takeoffs into a computer spreadsheet.
- Obtains pricing for materials.
- Prepares cost analysis by recapitulating material labor equipment and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Makes an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available.
- Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items on computer database.
- Develops and maintains resource information on products vendors subcontractors government requirements etc.
- Attends departmental meetings as required.
- Creates job folders.
- Photocopies documents and plans.
- All other duties assigned
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree
Experience:
23 years of related experience and/or training
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
- Preferred experience in Sage estimating software.
Strength Level: 1025 pounds
