Job Description
Location: Hayward CA
Work Model: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with experience in structural and miscellaneous steel to support our construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications drawings and requirements to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and structural drawings to perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Develop bills of materials (BOM) and labor estimates for steel fabrication and erection.
- Work closely with project managers engineers and vendors to collect pricing and technical information.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and assess project risks during the bidding process.
- Prepare and submit formal proposals budgets and bid packages.
- Track bid outcomes maintain the estimating database and assist with project handoff to operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience estimating steel fabrication and erection projects within the construction industry.
- Proficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam Excel FabTrol or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of steel shapes connections welding processes and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical mathematical and communication skills.
