This position is responsible for the daily supervision guidance and program functions of nonnursing staff on two teams in Communicable Disease Services: Communicable Disease Investigations and TB Case Management. These teams work to prevent treat and reduce the spread of reportable diseases in Multnomah County. This position plans prioritizes assigns supervises and ensures implementation of communicable disease response efforts for their assigned teams and offers operations and programrelated support and direction to include act as a point of contact and expertise for internal and external partners to reduce emergency and outbreak events within the community program evaluation and structure budget and funding development training and sharing of best practices within the communicable disease area.
As the Program Supervisor you will:
Manage employee performance addresses challenges and monitors work to ensure goals are met
Handle confidential inquiries fosters collaboration and provides training to ensure staff can complete their tasks effectively including understanding their role in response to outbreaks
Conduct performance evaluations ensures compliance with health department guidelines and coordinates staff development
Analyze and review laws regulations policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Ensure staff have the tools they need to perform their jobs and approve staff time and activities.
Prepare reports identify and implement solutions to barriers and participate in decisionmaking.
Participate in budget preparation and administration to include annual budget preparation research and evaluation of additional and/or grant funding to maintain and enhance outbreak investigations that include prevention measures education and sharing of best practices
Strive for continuous improvement using qualitybased tools and approaches to review operations and achieve the county mission
Conduct or participate in inquiries related to client or staff complaints to provide resolutions and identify best practices.
Document and track staff quality and productivity standards ensure compliance with public health law and monitor surveillance data outbreaks and case investigations.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Equivalent to a bachelors degree
Three 3 to six 6 years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
Must possess a valid State issued drivers license

Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as hybrid telework meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location. The designation of Hybrid Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is Gladys McCoy building 619 NW 6th Ave Portland OR 97209.
Serving the Public Even During Disasters:
Everyday Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses while typically there begins with a call for volunteers county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
