Job DescriptionThe Staff Physical Therapist (Physical Therapist 2 works with pediatric patients across the age continuum infants children adolescents and from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds providing both direct and indirect patient care services. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals the Staff Physical Therapist plans and administers a full range of physical therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and functional include patient evaluations using physical therapy tests and measurements establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing physical therapy modalities and procedures.
This Physical Therapist will work closely with the Wellness Center providers to deliver individual and group fitness services aimed at supporting patients in their wellness journey. Services include patient evaluations using physical therapy tests and measurements establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing physical therapy modalities and procedures. The Staff Physical Therapist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties the Staff Physical Therapist may also supervise support personnel including Rehabilitation Aides as well as Physical Therapy students. The Staff Physical Therapist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs including quality and performance improvement activities clinical education programs and inservices and staff development activities.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80 120 of the established midpoint. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

- DPT Doctoral graduate degree
- If graduated 15 or more years ago a bachelors degree
- Minimum one year related patient care experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Ability to recognize signs of distress.
- Basic computer skills including work within Epic electronic medical record
- Possession of good interpersonal time management problem solving and selfinitiation skills.
- This position requires flexibilityto orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Minimum one year of licensed experience as a Physical Therapist working with pediatric populations
- Prior physical therapy experience in an academic medical center environment
- Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team
- Boardcertified Pediatric Clinical Specialist
- Possession of or proven eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California
- Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification
