Job Description

Overview

In this position you will work closely with clients to establish solutions to make them successful broaden the effect of GIS technology to their business and help shape the evolution of the platform by identifying new implementation patterns. You will provide solutions and thought leadership while promoting the use of Esri technology to enable customer success and support its development and growth into new domains by working closely with industry experts throughout the company.

This team supports our Utilities clients. You will be part of a talented crossfunctional team of dynamic and passionate Consultants and Project Managers to deliver solutions that enable our customers to make a difference in communities around the world. You will be part of a delivery team that implements critical technologies that improve quality reliability and accessibility to data and geospatial capabilities.

The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands CA area for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients translate realworld needs into practical stateoftheart GIS technologydriven solutions through the implementation of Esris enterprise GIS technology
  • Work with clients to prepare multiyear GIS implementation and migration strategies
  • Collect organize and present client requirements objectives and business workflows to translate into meaningful and actionable strategies and plans
  • Analyze and interpret business and technical problems and distill them into manageable and practical solutions or tasks
  • Provide GIS technical guidance and advice
  • Lead project teams during requirements analysis design build and rollout
  • Create and manage the scope cost schedule and contractual deliverables through planning tracking quality assurance change control and risk management
  • Manage projects ranging from small focused technical transfer engagements to large enterprise implementations of missioncritical systems
  • Track project performance and report on status
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Manage client relationships and expectations
  • Work with Esris marketing and sales teams to develop new business

Requirements

  • 8 years of significant proven experience applying GIS technology within electric and gas utilities sector
  • Domain expertise throughout the electric and gas utilities market including electric and/or gas distribution and transmission
  • Experience with Esri products to solve complex business problems
  • Familiarity with RDBMS and geodatabase design techniques and concepts
  • Demonstrated professional experience applying electric and gas utilities GIS data management frameworks
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Ability to develop project designs work plans budgets and schedules
  • Experience with desktop client/server and Internet applications and architectures
  • Excellent interpersonal writing presentation and leadership skills
  • Bachelors in information systems GIS computer science or relevant field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience in the integration of ArcGIS with common utility enterprise systems such as: asset management work management network analysis Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) Outage Management Systems (OMS) customer information and document management systems
  • Knowledgeable of utility workflows and how they are applied through GIS such as: facility management (AM/FM) rightofway corridor planning engineering design construction inspection network analysis integration with other systems and market analysis
  • Ability to lead and manage consulting and software development teams
  • Masters in information systems GIS computer science or relevant field
