Job Title: Extended Day Counselor Early Childhood

Location: Friends School of Baltimore Baltimore MD 21210

Reports to: Director of Programs

Employment Type: PartTime

Pay Range: $15.50 $17

Position Overview:

Friends School of Baltimore is looking for Early Childhood Extended Day Counselors. These positions work with students in the Extended Day program to facilitate a safe and engaging after school program.

Hours vary depending on division placement but will be between 2:45 PM and 6:00 PM Monday Friday on School Days only.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Must be 16 years of age. High School diploma or completed sophomore year required. College credit a plus
  2. Current MSDE 90 hour early childhood certification or willing to obtain
  3. Experience: Experience: Desire to work with / teach students in grades PK 8th Child Care or Youth Camp experience a plus.
  4. Grooming and appearance: Friends School seeks to maintain a neat and professional image at all times.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Problem solving skills capable of dealing with multiple tasks while maintaining composure
  2. A positive attitude good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be resourceful
  3. Able to work independently without constant supervision
  4. Understanding of students needs and an ability to handle conflicts according to school procedures
