Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide tourism strategic planning technical assistance and product development guidance
- Present to local regional state and federal organizations
- Provide marketing assistance to communities and small tourismoriented businesses
- Connect tourism industry representatives and small businesses with VTC services
Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability towork independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Exhibit sound judgment in making decisions and maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
- Comprehensive knowledge of tourism development and marketing economic development planning entrepreneurship professional leadership and community development
- Considerable knowledge ofstrategic planning goal setting community visioning and value development and project planning and implementation preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
Experience:
- Experience in business public administration marketing hospitality or related field preferred
This position will work independently from a home office. Considerable travel and evening meetings within the served regions including regular trips to the Richmond office will be required. A valid drivers license is required
