Active TopSecret clearance is required (may require a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with DISA and DoD staff and leadership to facilitate the integration of the Joint Planning and System (JPES) to replace the legacy Joint Operation Planning and System (JOPES) for Joint Planning.
- Collaborate with the services and other DoD stakeholders in the development and conduct of user assessments to ensure all necessary functionality meets or exceeds that of JOPES which JPES is replacing.
- Support training and instruction on JPES/JOPES tools that allow deployment and redeployment of forces equipment and supplies around the globe.
- Attend JPES/JOPES planning conferences and draft reports that include recommendations for process improvements.
Experience and Technical Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of relevant experience is required.
- Bachelors degree in a related field is required.
- Working knowledge and experience with JOPES in joint operational planning and global force management in support of DoD components.
- Understanding of processes tied to working with individuals such as the Joint Capabilities Requirements Manager (JCRM) and working knowledge of Joint Operation Planning and System (JOPES) processes and how it influences the requirements process.
- Knowledge and understanding of joint OPLANs Concept of Operation Plans (CONPLANs) and DOTMLPFP joint processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expert user of the MS Office Suite (mainly MS Word Excel and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military Veteran (E8 and above) with relevant operational experience on the Joint Staff or similar experiences conducting Joint planning initiatives.
- Experience providing details analysis and performing analytics normalization and visualization.
- Experience supporting USTRANSCOM
