Suggested Qualifications
Strong commitment to belief in and alignment with mission and vision of BPS.
High school diploma or equivalent (at minimum).
Strong communication skills including verbal and written.
One year working in education and/or with a diverse student population in a noneducation setting.
Openness to feedback desire to continue development as a professional and willingness to take responsibility for student outcomes and achievement.
Demonstrated track record of operating with a growth mindset and deep humility in all previous roles.
Responsibilities
Provide engaging motivating and relevant oneonone and small group academic and behavior support to students with a variety of needs in the classroom using plans and modifications supported/provided by case manager.
Collaborate regularly with grade level and Special Education teams regarding individual students progress and needs; provide data and anecdotal information on scholar progress during instruction.
Teach support and enhance schoolwide systems and expectations at all times with all children.
Participate in required training as requested.
Actively engage in professional development learning opportunities and schoolwide efforts (including but not limited to) issues of diversity equity and inclusion.
Supports functional and adaptive needs as assigned; and may include but not limited to toileting assistance feeding assistance and related needs.
Continuously use feedback to make productive changes in instructional practices and overall performance.
Complete all administrative requirements meeting deadlines.
Participate in additional activities including field trips intensive academic support sessions and other required programs as needed throughout year.
EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of basic computer operations and functions use of the Internet and Microsoft Office applications and skill in the use of general office equipment such as calculators copier etc. Other Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of children.
Ability to work with others.
Willingness to follow directions.
Ability to handle unforeseen situations in accordance with School and Board Policy.
Ability to accept individual differences among children.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Detailoriented.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or equivalent from a twoyear college or technical school; OR
60 college credit hours from an accredited college or university; OR
Satisfactory score on Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment.
