Sponsorship Sales Executive Conferences

Argus conferences division work closely with our price reporting team to put together state of the art knowledge sharing B2B conferences focused on the commodities markets.

These physical and hybrid conferences are focused on the following speciality areas: crude oil generation fuels LPG oil products chemicals fertilizers and metals. With a global portfolio of 30 conferences and digital products Argus conferences bring together communities in their respective sectors to network consume insight and consolidate business relationships.

We are currently looking for a B2B conference sales professional to increase revenue across the conference portfolio. The business has identified a great amount of potential in revenue through shared relationships across the business and this is a great opportunity for someone with the right experience to really optimise this.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop and grow their career in Sponsorship sales. As a key member of the conference team you will develop client relationships identifying the most appropriate prospects and contacting them to sell sponsorship and exhibition opportunities. You will look to sell packages across multiple events as well as one off opportunities overseeing sponsorship sales for approx. five conferences a year.

The key to success in this role is developing an understanding of the energy sectorsto tailor your approach to meet the needs of customers and build strong relationships. International travel will be needed to include sales development trips and managing the sponsor/exhibitor experience at the event.

What will you be doing

  • Value based consultative sales to existing and new clients to meet sales revenue targets
  • Achieve and aim to exceed daily KPIs on the telephone dialled calls proposals call time
  • Tenacious business development lead sourcing and closing skills particularly in international sales
  • Upselling higher yield packages to existing partners
  • Keep sales pipeline reporting up to date reporting and forecasting business accurately on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Develop long term relationships with clients and prospects to maximise sales
  • Manage and increasethe conference spex database through research toimprove data quality
  • Work with the team globally to make best use of personal contacts and relationships and to ensure the right organisations have been approached
  • Support marketing activities surrounding the event including email and digital campaigns
  • Responsible for ensuring sponsors and exhibitors have an excellent experience at the event
  • Liaise with the editorial team to maintain current knowledge of our products and our prospective sponsors/exhibitors needs
  • Develop a sponsorship strategy for each conference in collaboration with the head of global sponsorship sales and event/sector project team
  • Negotiate creatively to tailor packages that ensure client needs are met and deal value is optimised

Skills and Experience

  • 1 year plus sales experience
  • Equally adept to selling complex products both on the phone and face to face
  • A consultative approach using initiatives to identify clients needs to the right package
  • Experience in conference sponsorship sales preferred
  • Naturally commercial highly motivated by money
  • Creative and flexible thinker with the ability to devise new options to suit clients
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and relationship building skills and ability to network
  • Experience in successfully engaging key decision makers of major companies
  • Experience producing and delivering professional sales presentations preferred
  • Customer focus with the ability to build credibility and rapport over the phone and in person
  • Able to use initiative as well as work as part of a team
  • Strong coordination and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and targets and manage multiple projects
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to make a high volume of highquality outbound calls
  • Able to research data quickly and meticulously
  • Attention to detail
  • Energy and drive to excel
  • Ability to travel internationally
