Saint Josephs College of Maine is hiring for the per diem position of Groundskeeper!
Position Description:
The Groundskeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the outdoor spaces of our educational institution ensuring that the grounds are safe attractive and conducive to learning. This position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall aesthetic and functional quality of the campus environment. The Groundskeeper will be responsible for the upkeep of lawns gardens and other landscaped areas which directly impacts the experience of students staff and visitors. By utilizing various landscaping tools and equipment the Groundskeeper will help create a welcoming atmosphere that promotes outdoor activities and community engagement. Ultimately this role is essential in fostering a positive image of the institution through wellmaintained grounds and facilities.

The required skills for this position such as proficiency in using lawn mowers and eaters are essential for the daily maintenance of the grounds. Knowledge of pruning techniques and landscaping principles will enable the Groundskeeper to enhance the beauty and health of the campus flora. Familiarity with frontend loaders and chain saws will be necessary for larger landscaping projects and efficient debris management. Frequent driving is a part of the role as the Groundskeeper will need to transport equipment and materials across the campus. Overall these skills contribute to creating a safe and inviting outdoor environment that supports the educational mission of the institution.
