Job Description
Davis Behavioral Health is seeking a fulltime mental health Therapist to work in the Davis County Jail medical unit.
Duties assigned to this position include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct mental health evaluations to identify appropriate needs for inmate population.
Conduct suicide/risk assessments and engage in safety planning.
Provide individual psychotherapy for inmates seeking this service.
Document activities and interventions in inmates clinical record.
Manage and monitor the needs of high risk populations.
If services after jail stay are required ensure appropriate hand off when transferring care.
Create new clinical records for inmates who have not been seen at Davis Behavioral Health.
When needed provide mental health assessments for the Mental Health Court and participate in its staff meetings.
Provide suicide prevention course for jail staff including deputies and clerks.
When needed participate in Police Officer Crisis Intervention Team training.
DBHs preference is to hire a fullylicensed LCSW; however all candidates with an active masterlevel clinician license in the State of Utah (LCSWCSW CMHC ACMHC MFT AMFT) will be considered. Strong preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.
Schedule
The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday in the Davis County Jail. The specific schedule will be determined by the hiring manager and representatives from the Jail.
Compensation
This position is classified as fulltime exempt. This position is eligible for a hybrid base rate salary plus incentive model if the candidate is interested.
Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $70000 plus credit for years of fulllicensure experience as defined below:
$75500.00 to $88000.00 per year is the approved base rate range
1 per year for each year of full licensure
$3000 Spanishlanguage incentive annual stipend (paid biweekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
Required Experience
The successful candidate must be licensed as a masterslevel clinician in the State of Utah. DBHs preference is to hire a fullylicensed LCSW; however candidates with an active license in the State of Utah as a CSW CMHC ACMHC or MFT will be considered. Strong preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience as a crisis worker is a plus. This position requires one who uses social work methods and principles to observe interpret and evaluate data gathered through interviews collateral consults and assessment methods. Contacts utilizes develops and coordinates with community agencies and resources to support client needs. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Flexibility and knowledge of DBH and community resources preferred.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a preemployment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal or abusing alcohol; therefore making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing preemployment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

DBH utilizes an electronic medical health records system so computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is required.
