Job Description
The Contemporary American Theater Festival at Shepherd University is welcoming applications for the position of Production Management Intern. CATF a summer festival and leading producer of contemporary plays is dedicated to telling diverse stories and developing new American theater. The festival premieres or produces multiple plays per season in 34 venues. CATF is committed to supporting the unique needs of new work while fostering an environment of fun and company community. Located 90 minutes from DC CATF makes its home in one of Americas coolest small towns Shepherdstown WV.
Interns assist the Director of Production (DoP) and Production Manager (PM) with the planning and scheduling of Production Department work calls to ensure the smooth of the build and hang of the season. The PM intern will also assist with budget tracking and may assist other Production Department with shopping tasks. During the performance period the PM intern will assist the DoP and PM with ensuring the shows are maintained to a high quality level and that shows run without technical issues; PM interns may also assist with the changeover in one venue (typically 1.5 hours per day) based on need. Basic knowledge of theatrical terminology schedules and work practices is necessary. Some experience in at least one other production department (lighting carpentry costumes etc) is preferred.

Position is seasonal from May 26 to August 9. All staff and interns are provided free airconditioned housing within walking distance of the theaters and workspaces (also air conditioned) 12 meals per day during tech and free use of university gym pool and laundry facilities.
