Our Next Senior Numerical Modeller

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Numerical Modeller technical expertise of conceptual modelling to support the delivery of Okanes leading mine closure consulting services through an integrated life of mine approach.
This is a hybrid role in either Perth or Brisbane.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Supervise the development of conceptual models in support of mine waste storage facility closure plan development failure Mode and Effects Analyses etc.
• Supervise the simulation of hydrologic hydrogeologic and geochemical conditions for a given model domain development through robust conceptual model analysis.
• Provide leadership including training technical guidance strategic guidance and mentorship to the operations team.
• Collate and assist in preparation of technical documentation proposals and reports in area of technical discipline.
• Provide peer and technical review of reports developed by others.
• Develop strong relationships within the mining industry foster existing client relationships and leverage client relationships to generate new leads and opportunities or initiate referrals.
• Demonstrate care about the wellbeing of yourself and others through actively participating in occupational health and safety standards activities and initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Strong written and oral communication skills and experience with technical report writing technical data and design review and technical report peer review.
• Experience developing and applying numerical water resource models
• Coding experience would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and willingness to drive the growth of modelling operations in Oceania.
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (civil geotechnical environmental geoenvironmental) or Science (geology environmental science) or similar.
• Experience in mine closure and remediation either within Oceania or overseas is considered an asset.
• Ability and willingness to coordinate with staff and clients in different time zones.
• Experience using relevant software packages including GeoStudio Goldsim QGIS Archgis Drains Siberia Golden Surfer WEPP Deswik etc. is considered an asset.
• Experience building and leading a team is considered an asset.
