Job Description

Overview

Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Corporate Accountant are to actively participate in the monthly close consolidations and reporting; drive automation and process improvements; and support a strong internal controls system. The Senior Corporate Accountant will interface with Trading Group and Corporate Personnel as well as the Manufacturing location(s) to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This is an amazing opportunity for growth within the role and organization.

This position requires someone to live in or be willing to relocate to St. Louis MO.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Financial close responsibilities including preparing and posting journal entries completing account reconciliations and preparing financial reports in accordance with internal and external deadlines
  • Manage and maintain Fixed Asset records for multiple entities including recording additions disposals transfers and depreciation and reviewing support to confirm alignment with policy requirements
  • Maintain the companys system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets
  • Track and reconcile intercompany charges on a continuous basis
  • Prepare process and distribute intercompany billings to affiliates
  • Drives documentation of processes and procedures to support a strong internal controls environment
  • Assists in the provision of information to external auditors for annual financial statement and compliance audits and reporting
  • Managing and assisting on projects will also be a part of this role once established in processes and workflow
  • Work closely with the Corporate Controller to assist with the preparation of consolidation and elimination entries consolidated financial statements and monthly reporting for stakeholders
  • Support yearend financial statement audit including pulling requests for auditors and data needed for footnote disclosures
  • Track international spend running through the general ledger in the local currency for statutory reporting and tax purposes
  • Document processes and procedures to support a strong internal controls environment
  • Assist in GAAP accounting research as needed
  • Will work with minimal supervision (once trained and understands processes) and partner with others on the finance team reviewing information for accuracy and fixing discrepancies
  • This is a senior professional role that applies knowledge gained through education and experience

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education

  • Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

  • 5 years of Finance or Accounting experience; 7 years is preferred


Other required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Quick learner who can easily adapt to the evolving priorities and needs of the business and stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive as a motivated selfstarter in a fastpaced growing environment

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively disseminate information clearly and concisely

  • Possess the highest level of integrity; serving as a trusted advisor to customers and colleagues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office includes Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Teams
