You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe University of Washington (UW) Department of Radiation Oncology is currently recruiting for up to 3 positions at theAssistant ProfessorAssociate Professor or Professor rank on the Clinical Practice Track. The primary focus of these positions will be the provision of clinical care with dedicated time allocated for educational and scholarly activities. The specific area of disease site specialization will be determined by the departmental needs the candidates interest and approval by the Chair. The Department of Radiation Oncology offers a formal mentorship program designed to support the professional and career development of junior faculty. The appointed candidate will be expected to advance the departments missions in clinical care research education and equity diversity and inclusion (EDI).Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UWs Faculty Code Section 2434. The initial appointment period will be three years at a minimum with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the Clinical Practice Track hold multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. Positions are available effective July 1 2025; specific start date is negotiable.
Faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology practice at several of our partner institutions: Fred Hutch Cancer Center (which includes the Proton Center South Lake Union Cancer Clinic Peninsula/Poulsbo Cancer Center and FHCC Northwest Hospital) University of Washington Medical Center Seattle Childrens Hospital Harborview Medical Center and VA Puget Sound. The department provides an extensive and outstanding array of radiation oncology modalities for cancer patients including SBRT proton therapy neutron therapy GammaKnife radiosurgery LDR and HDR brachytherapy and intravascular brachytherapy.
Department Overview:
UW Medicine and its partner institutions (UWMC Fred Hutch Cancer Center including its Proton Center Seattle Childrens Hospital VA Puget Sound Harborview Hospital) provide an extensive and outstanding array of radiation oncology modalities for cancer patients. The Department of Radiation Oncology treats over 2800 patients annually from a multistate region covering over 25 of the U.S. geographic area. The University of Washington has the only Radiation Oncology department in North America that has clinical particle beam delivery systems for both proton and neutron therapy. Our clinical approach is collaborative with numerous multidisciplinary clinics tumor boards and disease specific chart rounds. We are a part of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and have strong translational and clinical research collaborations. The Department has 36 physicians 11 advanced practice providers 31 physicists and 3 research faculty. Educational opportunities in our residency programs fellowship programs and postdoctoral fellowships abound. A strong interest and commitment to research and education is expected as well as strong collaboration with the multidisciplinary clinical teams.

The variety of neighborhoods within Seattle and surrounding areas offer a diversity of environments for families and single adults to call home connected by bike commuting trails and a rapidly growing public transportation system.
Compensation
For Assistant Professor the base salary range is $27750 $28334/month or $333000 $340008/annually for Associate Professor the base salary range is $30750 $34584/month or $369000 $415008/annually and for Full Professor $34875 $38746/monthly or $418500 $464952/annually or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This salary is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive via the UW Physicians practice plan or compensation for departmental/clinical leadership roles.
