Job Description
Using MRP Purchasing experience the Material Planner/Buyer will help maintain supply inventory levels and handle vendor negotiations. The Material Planner/Buyer will work within the companys purchasing policies and procedures and on crossfunctional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
- Review and maintain purchasing agreements with vendors
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze and compare multiple quotations
- Measure supplier performance based on quality service and deliveries
- Determine optimal stocking quantities based on several factors including sales history seasonality input from sales product experience and knowledge. This analysis will require a strong analytical and commonsense approach.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors
- Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on annual numbers
- Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
- Participate in or lead product innovation projects
At least five years experience in Planning/Purchasing
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proven history of effective supply management
Outstanding organizational skills
A strong analytical mindset
Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
BS degree preferred

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual fulltime salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base pay offered will depend on a variety of factors including experience education geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for additional benefits to the base pay range listed above.
