As our Backend Engineer in Barcelona youll join us at an exciting moment: the launch of our new office in Spain! Youll play a key role in shaping the future of our product and platform working with a modern tech stack to deliver robust scalable features. This isnt just another job youll be part of building a new engineering hub from the ground up.
Tasks
What youll be doing
Your work will directly impact how thousands of companies and candidates experience hiring. Heres what that looks like:
- Collaborate with frontend engineers product managers and DevOps/platform teams to build meaningful features through our Agile SDLC/Kanban workflow.
- Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
- Define technical requirements and identify the best solutions to meet team goals.
- Participate in engineering retrospectives focused on testing architecture automation and coding standards.
- Always think beyond the code youll focus on delivering value and improving the user experience for our customers.
Who youll work with
Youll join our Backend Guild collaborating closely with Product Platform DevOps and Frontend teams. We care deeply about quality performance and a great developer experience supported by clean architecture code generation linters templates and testdriven development.
Requirements
What were looking for
We dont believe in checklists but if most of these apply to you wed love to chat:
5 years of backend development experience.
2 years of experience with a strongly typed language or TypeScript.
Strong experience with RDBMS (raw queries or via ORM).
Solid background in unit and integration testing.
Experience with message brokers (SNS RabbitMQ Kafka Google Pub/Sub etc..
Bonus: Experience with GraphQL GCP or AWS gRPC and protobufs.
Bonus: Strong grasp of SOLID principles.
