Job Description
The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking a MathTeacher for Central Academyfor the 202526 academic year.
The Math teacher is responsible for facilitating the learning of the general principles of secondary level mathematics including prealgebra and algebra I for every student by creating a stimulating learning environment in which every child is expected to reach their own academic potential.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Strong mathematical content knowledge
- Pedagogical knowledge that accentuates conceptual knowledge and critical and reflective thinking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skilled in human relations leadership and conflict management
- Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students
- A high ability to work collaboratively with teams and nurture relationships
- An aptitude for mentoring and fostering teacherstudent relationships
- Demonstrated skills in computer word processing spreadsheets and databases
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred Certification: Grade912
- Masters degree with at least 18 credit hours in math
- Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
