RESIDENT PROGRAM MANAGER
Halton Hills
Candidates are invited to apply for the above fulltime position to work at our Halton Hills a 130bed longterm care facility located in George town Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan organize direct and supervise the department program which includes: recreational restorative care pastoral care social work music therapist and volunteers.
- Implement and evaluate program relating to the physical emotional social intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents.
- Coordinate activities with those of other departments and inform administration of departmental activities needs and problems.
- Develop departmental goals and objects.
- Actively participate in program delivery.
- Develop implement and monitor programming budget.
- Satisfy Health Record as they pertain to the department (MDS experience an asset)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Postsecondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies therapeutic recreation kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university required
- Knowledge of the concepts of Restorative care Holistic care Activation and Dementia Care
- Minimum one year supervisory experience
- Experience in planning developing and evaluating effectiveness of individual and group programming for frail elderly residents using an interdisciplinary approach
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and have a command of the English language.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Knowledge of community resources program development MOHLTC standards
- Previous supervisory experience in long term care an asset
