Job Summary: As a critical member of the Executive Management team the Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the oversight and management of financial and IT functions. (Grantmaking and investment oversight is held with the COO and CIO respectively.

Salary Range: $220000 $250000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Team:
- Serve as a member of the Executive Management team: participate in key decision making maintain indepth relations with team members ensure staff expertise and productivity in areas of responsibility and participate in special projects as needed.
- Serve as an officer of the Foundation provide staff support to the Boards Finance Committee and attend all Board of Trustee meetings.
- Serve as the Plan Administrator of the 403(b)retirement plan.
- Serve as Trustee of the Foundations medical plan/trust.
- Serve as the Registered Agent of the Foundation.
- May serve as an officer of or member of other related/affiliated organizations or entities.
Finance & Information Technology Departments:
- Oversee and manage financial operations: maintain banking protocols oversee cash management monitor retirement plan compliance oversee payroll and vendor transaction approval and processing manage internal and external reporting regarding financials and taxes evaluate and update financial systems monitor and update procedures/controls/best practices ensure audit compliance ensure compliance with organizational and departmental document retention and destruction policies monitor the organizations financial condition and compliance with IRS and other government directives interface with transaction processing in various departments provide guidance and review of annual budget development compensation analysis and reasonableness reviews.
- Risk Management: participate in Foundation risk management assessment and decisionmaking oversee the Foundations insurance portfolio and be the primary contact for the review and of contracts within the organization in consultation with legal department as needed.
- Oversee and manage IT operations: ensure efficient computer operations and availability of effective technology tools for users oversee project planning and prioritizing ensure adequate cyber security ensure compliance with organizational and departmental document retention and destruction policies approve capital acquisitions and computer applications oversee budget development monitor service staff and user training interface with outsourced support vendors and provide strategic oversight on security and threats.
- Provide supervision and leadership of direct reports within Finance and IT Departments including responsibility for: assigning and scheduling work training appraising performance promotions and transfers salary recommendations interviewing and hiring disciplinary discussions and termination of employment.
Team/Collaboration:
- Coordinate and work with various departments and programs within the Foundation.
- Collaborate with and provide strategic support and guidance to the Human Resources department and Grants department on the financial aspects of their respective operations.
- Support the organization and its departments with document management and retention in collaboration with the legal department.
- Maintain effective relationships with relevant third parties: participate on external nonprofit Boards maintain critical vendor/professional relationships attend professional development courses and participate in external convening opportunities.
- Support the Regional Partnerships program as a regional staff member in at least one region providing strategic direction and direct supervision of regional Fellows.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A successful candidate must have a bachelors degree be a Certified Public Accountant or have received a masters in business administration with a Finance concentration and have at least fifteen 15 years of relevant experience with progressing levels of responsibility.
- Experience in investment or endowments is preferred. Experience in nonprofit financial accounting management in a private foundation is preferred.
- Candidates must be able to travel within the State of Colorado.
- Hiring is subject to passing an employment prescreening (background check).
