Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director this position will work closely with leaders throughout ADOT to provide project administration and management for short and long termprojects and programs related to the Office of Law and Policy. This position ensures policies and practices are vetted before adversely impacting external partners regulated communitiesor other stakeholders. Partnering with ADOTs Government Relations team responds to inquiries gathers information performs impact analysis and coordinates legislative implementationteams. This position will work closely with leaders throughout ADOT to provide program administration for short and long term projects and programs related to the Office of Law andPolicy. Serves as the point of contact for the States Ombudsman and the Office of Law & Policy for external stakeholder relations.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Serves as the Office of Law & Policys external stakeholders primary point of contact. Coordinate project management efforts to understand and respond tomajor stakeholder needs and find solutions. Assist in creating Division executive messaging to stakeholders through oral and written communication. Workwith Division unit leaders to train staff members in understanding how changes impact internal and external stakeholders. Work closely with various ADOTteams to solve problems and communicate needs and solutions between internal and external customers.

  • Conducts research projects and prepares special studies to make recommendations and advise the deputy director on the best course of action in regards tovarious complex requests from external stakeholder needs. Participate/lead the divisions external relations initiatives including leading efforts amongvarious ADOT teams and keep uptodate all high level external stakeholder communications.

  • Collaborate with other areas of ADOT government relations (State & Local and International) to ensure robust and accessible customer services are providedto external customers. Serve as an additional point of contact with local government relations. Act as a liaison between leadership regarding majorstakeholder relations or projects.

Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in public administration political science business administration communications or closely related field.
  • An advanced degree in PublicAdministration or related fields is preferred.
PreEmployment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid classappropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. R210207.11.

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (EVerify).
