A controller is a seniorlevel financial manager who oversees the accounting and reporting functions of a company. A controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy completeness and compliance of the financial statements as well as managing the budgeting forecasting and internal control processes. A controller also provides strategic financial guidance and analysis to the executive team and other stakeholders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing the monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinating and managing the external audit process and ensuring compliance with the tax and legal requirements.
- Developing and maintaining the accounting policies procedures and internal controls and ensuring their effectiveness and adherence.
- Managing the cash flow treasury and banking operations and optimizing the working capital and capital structure.
- Supervising and mentoring the accounting staff and ensuring their professional development and performance evaluation.
- Preparing and monitoring the annual budget and forecasts and providing variance analysis and recommendations.
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support the strategic decisionmaking and planning of the executive team and other business units.
- Implementing and improving the financial systems processes and tools and ensuring their integration and alignment.
- Staying updated on the accounting standards industry trends and best practices and ensuring their adoption and implementation.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills and ability to provide sound financial advice and guidance.
- Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with the executive team board of directors auditors and other stakeholders.
- High attention to detail accuracy and quality and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Selfmotivated proactive and adaptable and ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
Education/Experience:
- A bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field. A masters degree or a professional certification such as CPA CMA or CGMA is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in GAAP tax audit and internal control principles and practices.
- Proficient in using various accounting and financial software such as QuickBooks SAP Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings trainings and events.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer phone printer scanner and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift carry and move up to 25 pounds of files documents and materials.
