The Rapid and Rural Logistics team covers a portfolio of highgrowth businesses with unique fulfillment and operational capabilities such as Sub Same Day (SSD) Rural Super Rural (RSR) and Amazon Today. Our Finance teams partner closely with our operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business drive operations excellence and make sound investment and expansion decisions with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving longterm profitability for our portfolio of businesses. This role will lead the financial support for SSD Distribution Centers (DCs) under the roof operational performance as well as support long term DC network strategic initiatives. This individual will partner with Site Leadership Operations and Supply Chain teams to drive operational efficiency and optimize variable cost for the SSD DC Network. As the SSD DC network grows in both size and complexity this individual will also support new site launches expanded site functionality initiatives and cost optimization initiatives requiring financial modeling and analysis as well as crossfunctional partnership. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners support thoughtful decisionmaking and adapt to a rapidlyevolving environment. They will collaborate with executives and business units across Amazon bring excellent verbal and written communication skills and prioritize the most impactful projects and programs to drive businesses forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity of building innovative solutions with largescale data mining tools identifying highpriority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders and solving complex problems that impact companywide strategic decisions.
Key job responsibilities
Creating financial models and plans interpreting large data sets drawing conclusions and making recommendations that deliver results drive improvements and influence leaders throughout Amazon
Building effective business partnerships and using active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear concise and unambiguous manner
Identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs through data and financial analysis inclusive of proactively resolving defects benchmarking key performance indicators and developing new metrics
Implementing solutions to simplify improve automate standardize and scale processes
Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
5 years of finance experience or Masters degree and 3 years of finance experience
3 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
MBA and/or Professional certification (CIMA ACCA ACA or CPA)
Highly analytical detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to develop new ideas creative solutions and demonstrated experience implementing such mechanisms to results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
