What You Will Do:

Join a highperforming acquisition engineering team supporting U.S. Air Force acquisition programs. This position is for an Acquisition Electrical Engineer Technical Lead for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. Duties include applying knowledge and experience in electrical/avionics engineering policies and procedures to acquire and sustain Air Force weapon systems subsystems acquisition programs and product support strategies throughout their life cycles.

Electrical Engineering responsibilities include the following:

  • Focus on design assessment integration and management of aircraft avionics components and complex aircraft avionics and electrical systems over the product life cycle

  • Plan and review technical plans systems integration requirements verification and validation technical designs cost and risk analysis and supportability and effectiveness analysis

  • Conduct formal and informal presentations prepare technical reports papers and documents and participate in conferences and discussions related to assigned systems

  • Prepare documentation and presentation material for program milestones

  • Provide inputs on the evaluation of technical proposals

The candidate may also be required to perform a wide range of acquisition program office activities such as: gathering acquisition program information; conducting planning and analyses for all acquisition phases; assisting in acquisition and sustainment strategy planning; tracking and scheduling; implementing contractor performance status systems; assisting in establishing and maintaining databases; assisting in developing and analyzing key program metrics; assisting in developing and integrating risk management plans and strategies; supporting program briefings; and effectively communicating recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management.


What You Will Need:

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Bachelors degree

  • SIX 6 years of work experience in DOD/USAF acquisition or sustainment related to weapon system/aircraft avionics or electrical systems


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Masters degree in related area

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II or above

  • Clear understanding of the DoD acquisition and sustainment organizations

  • Experience in an acquisition program office

  • Experience in DOD/USAF Acquisition Airworthiness Process

  • Experience in ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software (i.e. Teamcenter)

  • Selfmotivated/directed proactive high energy drive for excellence results oriented team player

  • Strong organizational interpersonal communication problemsolving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask prioritize and interface with an organization at all levels

  • Knowledge and experience in engineering principles criteria and procedures to acquire and sustain DoD weapon systems throughout their life cycles

  • Experience with the documentation and analysis of requirements specifications design build and test activities

The annual salary range for this position is $102000.00$170000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets experience and training security clearances licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
