The opportunity
The Greek EY Strategy & Transactions Advisory Services (SaT) practice is the leader in Greece and SouthEastern Europe in professional financial advisory services market. Leveraging an extensive global network our SaT team provides sectorfocused advice in developing business plans undertaking valuation engagements as well as in participating in M&A and fundraising assignments from funding sources such as venture capital / private equity funds family offices strategic investors commercial banks International Financial Institutions such as EIB or EBRD and the Recovery & Resilience Fund.
We have ambitious plans and we are seeking for highly performing professionals with an experience in valuations and a high interest and specialization in Real Estate and Hospitality sector to join our Athens office.
Working in a multinational environment the team works on a range of transactions from local to cross border multinational disposals or acquisitions. Working in this creative environment you will be given the opportunity to work and take responsibilities on challenging projects gaining exposure to various sectors both within Greece and the CESA region.
Your key responsibilities
As a financial analyst in our team you will:
- Participate in advisory engagements involving financial and economic analysis of real estate projects properties and companies including
- market valuation financial operational and investment analyses
- feasibility studies
- acquisition/development due diligence; vendor due diligence
- strategy design
- market research
- Provide audit support with the review of real estate & hospitality related valuation work
- Participate in business development activities (proposals client presentations professional events thought leadership)
- Interface directly with clients
- Demonstrate strong team participation skills particularly in teams with diverse skills and backgrounds
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and consistency in client work business development and practice development
- Demonstrate strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
Skills & Attributes for Success
To qualify for the role you must have
- Excellent academic background including a bachelors degree from a top tier university in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration / Auditing / Economics / Civil Engineering or any other related field a with a strong quantitative focus
- 1 3 years of relevant working experience ideally within a major Real Estate firm in a Corporate Finance department a Big4 professional services firm or similar
- Excellent written and verbal skills in Greek and English
- Excellent knowledge in MS Office packages in particular MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong numerical / analytical ability with corporate finance and financial accounting knowledge
- Good understanding of the local real estate industry and ability to recognize key performance drivers and emerging business / industry trends
- Knowledge in Financial Modeling
- Excellent team participation communication attention to detail critical thinking and organizational skills
- Strong work initiative willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas while working in a multicultural corporate environment
- Professionalism and consistency in approach to client work internal business and practice development
Ideally youll also have
- An MSc degree in Finance Business Administration (MBA) Real Estate and/or any other related field with strong quantitative focus
- Experience in a Big4 professional services firm or another multinational firm
- An active RICS and/or CFA certification (or in a final stage of completion)
