QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in education social work or related field
- Experience working with adolescent youth and their families
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge in MTSS crisis intervention counseling and behavior management
- Understanding barriers to academic and social emotional & behavioral success
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other professionals

JOB GOALS:
Engagement & Intervention Strategist is designed to support student academic and SEBH achievement. The Engagement & Intervention Strategist will be providing ongoing support for students referred to the Student Advisory Center. Strategies and tools provided will create and sustain a positive nurturing school climate in order to enhance student learning promote the overall efficiency of the school system and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the direction of a district office administrator building administration and in partnership with the building leadership team collaborate with building staff in coordinating a tiered intervention model across academics behavior and socialemotional learning (SEL) that includes assessment instruction progress monitoring and evaluation of intervention programs with the goal of increasing student achievement.
- Engagement & Intervention Strategist building based duties may include:
- Implement a Multitiered System of Supports (MTSS) using evidencebased practices & databased decision making
- Assist students in overall academic achievement by explicitly teaching academic and socialemotional learning lessons to students using evidencebased strategies such as restorative practices or socialemotional learning circles; help students learn practice and demonstrate socialemotional skills.
- Provide individual support to students identified through the MTSS system as needing instruction on but not limited to:
- Problem solving and deescalation strategies
- Executive functioning skills
- Behavior identification and function
- Appropriate replacement behaviors
- Provide support with conflict mediation
- Track intervention progress monitoring
- Partner and communicate with teachers families students and applicable community agencies
- Support district and school leadership teams to ensure MTSS processes protocols plans are implemented with fidelity and meet the needs of students.
- Support classroom teachers on best practices for Tier 1 universal practices and Tier 2/3 intervention.
- Share resources such as researchbased instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement and school climate.
- Work with school team to develop a sitebased intervention menu
- As needed provide direct instruction with small groups and individual students.
- Facilitate and assist with highquality professional development for teachers on MTSS processes such as intervention design and delivery.
- Participate in gradelevel/student support team meetings to advise on the use of data to identify students for tiered intervention and to design intervention plans aligned to student needs.
- Support gradelevel and buildinglevel decisionmaking based on MTSS data and outcomes.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
200 Contract Days. Salary and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Districts policy on Evaluation State Statute and any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
