Education Certifications and WorkRelated Experience
- Teaching certification in School Music K12
- Preferred Successful teaching experience in upper elementary and middle grade music chorus and performing arts
- Preferred Skills abilities experience in technology integration
- The ideal candidate will have successful classroom experience with strong abilities in intermediate or middle grades.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Teaching various choir and music classes for 4th7th grade students (full teaching load)
- Development of structures and processes for successful implementation of elective music courses
- Coulter Grove representative on Maryville City Schools Music Department
- Collaboration and support of music programs at all Maryville City Schools
- Development and implementation of practices and performance schedule
- Resource development including grants partnerships and other funding sources as needed
- Communication and collaboration with Encore team at CGIS
- All other duties as assigned by administration
- Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:
- A track record of success as evidenced by performance scores positive student perceptions and relationships positive communications and relationships with parents and community
- Strong recommendations of colleagues and supervisors
- Ability to contribute strongly and positively to a team collaborate with colleagues and appropriate others
- Past positive experience in leading and/or participating in a professional learning community structure focused on student learning
- Understanding the pedagogy and central concepts of the content area
- Experience in creating performance assessments for both formative and summative purposes
- Ability to use data to drive instruction
- Possess confidence in utilizing technology to facilitate instruction and as a means of effective twoway communication with all stakeholders
- Experience in a onetoone digital classroom environment or strong Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge and ideas to leverage technology within the program
- Highly motivated teacher with the ability to cognitively engage students in learning and facilitate the instruction process
- Understanding of student learning styles and ageappropriate instructional strategies that support higherorder thinking problem solving and real world connections for students
- Evidence of engaging in high quality professional development as defined by the Tennessee Department of Education
- Must be a Day maker!
