The Opportunity:EY has an established industryleading transaction advisory services practice on the continent of Africa. We help clients determine the right deal to do and then assist them in doing the deal right. As a Senior Manager specialising in infrastructure advisory you will play an integral role in driving engagements related to the planning development delivery and operations of major infrastructure projects. You will work with a diversely talented highly experienced team and be at the forefront of highprofile transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support EY teams advising both governments and private sector clients on major infrastructure projects.
- Manage complex assignments including client relationship management.
- Provide direction and oversight on financial modelling competitive analysis industry analysis negotiation support and procurement activities.
- Review and provide quality assurance on complex financial models.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of quality documents and presentations to clients.
- Manage and develop junior staff fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Contribute to EYs client development strategy and expand the practice through proactive business development.
- Increase the practices visibility in the marketplace by participating in key industry events and discussions.
- Attract develop and motivate strong talent within the team.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Deep knowledge of the infrastructure market in sectors such as power and utilities water and waste water transport and urban development.
- Deep knowledge of South Africas infrastructure sector and its stakeholders. Knowledge and experience working in other African countries would be considered an advantage.
- Good knowledge of PPPs
- Strong project management skills and ability to organise work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and financial modelling.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Understanding of key business drivers business strategy and public policy.
- Strong business development skills and ability to develop winning proposals within limited timelines.
- Demonstrate a handson teamoriented collaborative and flexible leadership style.
Qualifications:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in providing valueadded business advisory services for major infrastructure projects.
- 4 years of experience in a leadership capacity within the infrastructure and project development space.
- Undergraduate degree in business engineering or a related field; a Masters degree (e.g. MBA MSc Economics or MSc Finance) or related designation (e.g. CFA) is an asset.
- Selfmotivated proactive and entrepreneurial with the ability to work independently and communicate directly with clients.
