About the Position

WHSmith Australia is constantly growing and innovating. Our latest area of growth is the newly acquired Alfred Hospital estate. Our brandnew stateoftheart cafes are now open and thriving!

Were building a dynamic kitchen team to support both our newly launched concept stores and our temporary sites still in operation. Were currently hiring for the following positions:

• Sandwich Hand (Casual)
• Kitchen Hand (Casual)

Roles and Responsibilities

Kitchen hand:

• Preservice kitchen preparation
• Preparation of all ingredients
• Providing suggestions for menu improvement and changes.
• Safe food handling
• Responsible for ensuring the kitchen is always a clean safe and efficient workspace in line with Fresh hygiene standards
• Assume some responsibility of kitchen duties ordering and compliance.
• Consistently prepare high volume of food within the Caf

Sandwich Hand:

• Prepare and assemble fresh sandwiches wraps and light meals to order
• Ensure all food is made to a high standard with attention to presentation and consistency
• Follow food safety hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times
• Maintain a clean and organised prep area and workstation

About You

To be considered for these roles you must display the following:

• Minimum 1 year of hospitality experience in a kitchen hand or sandwich hand role
• 1 years of customer service experience is essential
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene (training can be provided).
• Physically capable of lifting and moving stock.
• Organised and efficient with good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn & cando attitude.
