DNV Power Systems Advisory group is seeking a Senior Resource Integration (RI) Engineer in the Renewables & Power Grids group. Our team provides creative cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation transmission/distribution systems and hyper scaler loads. The RI Engineer must demonstrate vision and drive and be passionate about contributing to the growth and evolution of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America. The ideal candidate will be aware of market opportunities where we can differentiate and innovate and they will manage commercial projects delivering technical insight and delighting customers with excellent customer service.

This role is based at our DNV office in Dallas (TX) Houston (TX) Medford (MA) New York (NY) Oakland (CA) Portland (OR) San Diego (CA) Seattle (WA) or Austin (TX) presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three 3 days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding rolespecific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

The position may also be considered at other DNV offices within US.

What Youll Do

  • Perform steady state dynamic shortcircuit and/or PSCAD model development for renewable and conventional generation resources including Solar Storage Wind and Gas turbines
  • Apply experience to independently perform lead others and advance collective capabilities in studies for power flow transient stability shortcircuit Electromagnetic Transients (EMT) harmonics technoeconomics and related areas for transmission distribution load and generator applications
  • Lead and advance script development and troubleshooting throughout the study process ensuring high quality and timely deliverables minimizing rework and review needs. Identify and implement modifications to more effectively address workloads
  • Collaborate with lead and advance capabilities of team members in understanding study requirements including technical and commercial items such as billable hours to ensure high quality and timely deliverables throughout the study process
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for area(s) related to grid reliability and/or energy markets
  • Conduct and lead technical studies for generator interconnection including system impact feasibility and deliverability per ISOs/RTOs requirements and methodology
  • Guide and instruct team members using a strong technical understanding of generation (including IBR) transmission interconnection customer and load and modeling principles
  • Actively attend (in person/remote) industry stakeholder meetings and stay up to date with assigned market changes in terms of developments and policy changes
  • Contribute to the teams research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the teams performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements
  • Cultivate new customer relationships and assist in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and provide Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for new tenders/bids/opportunities

**Benefits vary based on position tenure location and employee election*

For California Washington New York Washington D.C. Illinois and Maryland: DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific location. For the states of California Washington New York Washington D.C. Illinois and Maryland only the starting pay range for this role is$130000 $175000.
