The USC Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a Research Lab Technician III. This position is needed to support research projects that are ongoing under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Xu and Dr. Kyle Bolo.
Seeking a fulltime research lab technician with expertise in data science biostatistics and machine learning to join the ophthalmology department and assist in research relating to a variety of ophthalmic fields. The core group has interest in glaucoma detection and prognostication from various imaging studies and clinical data. Methods currently include conventional machine learning computer vision and natural language processing. The research lab technician will also assist other members of the department. The role of the research lab technician is to interface with clinician scientists to design and execute methods of data analysis. The research lab technician will also contribute to technical writing for scientific publications. With our group you can expect to contribute to stateoftheart technology and impactful publications.
Job Summary:
Plans and conducts research experiments in accordance with faculty objectives. Independently processes data and performs complex data analysis. Writes about methods and results. Supervises other research laboratory personnel as assigned.

Preferred Education: Masters Degree
Preferred Field of Expertise: Masters Degree or advanced technical schooling combined with 12 years of directly related research or programming experience to provide advanced knowledge of biostatistics and machine learning methods and the data science pipeline.

Posting Salary Range: The hourly rate range for this position is $30.62 $32.00.
